Niam Yaraghi is a tenured Associate Professor of Business Technology at Miami Herbert Business School at the University of Miami where he also holds a secondary appointment as an Associate Professor of Health Management & Policy. In addition, he holds a secondary appointment as an Associate Professor in the Department of Informatics and Health Data Science at the Miller School of Medicine. He is also a Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution's Center for Technology Innovation.

Professor Yaraghi’s research centers on the economics of health information technologies. He focuses on developing business models and policy frameworks that promote transparency, interoperability, and data sharing among patients, providers, payers, and regulators. His work has appeared in leading academic journals in information systems, healthcare management, and public policy, and has informed both industry practice and legislative initiatives related to health information technologies.
He received a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from the Isfahan University of Technology (Iran), an M.Sc. in Project Management and Operational Development from the Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden), and a Ph.D. in Management Science & Systems from the State University of New York at Buffalo. His interdisciplinary background supports his commitment to advancing health information systems research at the nexus of technology, policy, and patient-centered care.
